On Monday night, Power 105.1’s Cherry Martinez, CherryOnTop.com along with 5 Promotions toasted to ‘Girl Power’ with an elite, private cocktail reception celebrating powerful women in media and entertainment, and honoring VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Executive Producer and Monami Entertainment’s founder and CEO, Mona Scott-Young.
Held at the beautiful Bar Millie located on the mezzanine level of The Carlton Hotel, the event was hosted and chaired by Cherry Martinez, publisher of CherryOnTop.com and founder of ‘Girl Power Mondays’ on NYC’s Power 105.1 FM. While attendees looked on from a crowd that included luminaries such as VH1′s Mob Wives stars Karen Gravano and Ramona Rizzo, Smooth and Black Men Magazine model Tahiry Jose and legendary singing and production team Full Force, Cherry feted Scott-Young with an awe inspiring speech in front of close friends and colleagues and presented her with the first ever CherryOnTop.com ‘Girl Power’ Award statuette. Scott-Young was also presented with a cake bearing her image and a gift bag bearing goodies from the event’s sponsors.
Other attendees include rapper/singer/songwriter Doe (Diggy Simmons, Drake, Timbaland, and Trey Songz), Hino, producer Freddie Robinson, Par-City and Bravo’s Platinum Hit winner Sonyae Elise. The night’s soundtrack was provided by DJ June.
