At 21, she has been writing a fusion of rock, folk and soul since she was in High School in New Jersey. When she went off to college at Northwestern University in Chicago, Kara Ali continued her solo projects, and served as the frontwoman for numerous bands, bringing her material to the projects. Kara has played at venues ranging from Chicago’s “Uncommon Ground” to NY’s Historic “Bitter End”. She recorded her last two EPs at Soundwaves Studio in Union, NJ where she worked with former Socratic drummer and bassist, Thomas Stratton. Later, her EPs were sent off to be mastered by West West Side Music’s Alan Douches , who has worked on albums for the likes of everyone from Sufjan Stevens, to Toro Y Moi to Ben Folds, some of Kara’s biggest heroes and influences.
