After the success of his 2011 video Homeless, Montreal Rapper Fatty Soprano (by way of Russia) is pleased to announce his latest video “The Finale.” The track produced by local up and coming beat maker Paul Williams is the official single is off his upcoming mixtape C.N.A.D (Canadian Nightmare American Dream), which features French Montana, Gudda Gudda (from Young Money), Bizarre (from D12), Bishop Brigante and more.
Hailing from Montreal, Quebec Fatty Soprano is one of the most promising emcees in Canada’s diverse, electric music scene. Now, with “The Finale,” he is ready to take his career to the next plateau. Born in Rostov, Russia, Fatty Soprano came into this world at a time when the mob was dominating Russia. After his father refused to pay the mobsters the extortion they demanded, he was told his family would be hurt. It was the last straw. Fatty’s dad decided to move the family to the U.S. They settled in New Jersey where a young Fatty heard Jay Z and Biggie for the first time. Shortly after, they relocated to Montreal, but American music was in his blood. As a teen, Fatty immersed himself in hip-hop, relating to the tales of struggle and street life. Soon, after spitting freestyle verses in the high school hallways, Fatty Soprano become known for his lyrical chops.
At 16, he recorded his first verses with West Palm Beach producer Menoza. In 2006 he met local promoter and label CEO Linkcon “Prezzy” Demetrius. Impressed by Fatty Sopranos skills and hustle, Prezzy signed him to DPC Movements Records and that year Fatty dropped his first mixtape compilation “Woke Up This Morning.” His debut track “Every Time” won the “battle of the new tracks” nightly match up on radio station K103 a phenomenal 10 times in a row. He later released of his 2008 mixtape “Hataz Make Me Famous: Class Dismissed,” which was hosted by DJ Smallz.
The Montreal emcee has been featured in press outlets like HipHop.org, HipHopLead.com, among others. His videos have been featured on MTV.com and MTV, Worldstarhiphop, Vlad Tv, Hip Hop Canada, Much Music, Much Vibe among others.
Fatty Soprano’s debut EP Breaking Bad will be released in July 2012.
