New York, NY – (January XX, 2025) — For Bronx-born, Miami-based artist Karma
Nova, music isn’t just a calling—it’s her weapon, story, and revolution. Her latest single,
“Do That Sh*t”—out now via Karma Nova Records—features the legendary Miami
production and songwriting duo Cool & Dre, showcasing her raw energy and
unmistakable gift. As a single mother unshakably dedicated to her passion, the next-up
talent is reviving old-school hip-hop with a message, forging her place as a formidable
force in the music world and beyond.
“Do That Sh*t” puts Karma Nova’s bold, unapologetic style front and center. With a
reimagined spin on 2 Hyped Brothers & A Dog’s ’90s classic “Doo Doo Brown,”
Cool & Dre transform the iconic Miami bass track into a modern-day earworm. The
track’s heavy bassline, pounding 808s, and frenetic rhythm set the stage for Karma’s
raw hooks and provocative lyricism—so powerful that rap heavyweight Busta Rhymes
labeled her a “genius.” Lines like, “Don’t be trynna come for me when I’m just getting
money / You gotta walk bigger shoes just to get like me / You gotta open LLCs just to
take your seat,” cement her as an attention-demanding voice.
Born and raised in The Bronx, NY, Karma Nova moved to Miami six years ago to
pursue her sonic aspirations. With her younger brother’s encouragement, she stepped
into the studio for the first time, full of promise but determined to hone her craft and find
her voice. Since then, she has earned her stripes at Cool & Dre; Dre’s studios, recording
alongside legends like Busta Rhymes and Fat Joe. Known for her deep, throaty vocals
and bold, unapologetic style, Karma has already left her mark, including a standout
feature on Fat Joe’s latest project. Her six-track collaboration with Cool & Dre has
already amassed 2 million streams and counting, exemplifying her status as a rising
star in the music industry.
Outside the studio, Karma Nova is devoted to giving back, partnering with The Child
Hunger Project to fight global child hunger. As a single mother, she’s passionate about
supporting children and empowering single moms, using her platform to inspire those
facing adversity. Drawing from her own struggles, Karma proves it’s possible to rise
above hardship and is determined to help others find hope and avoid the pain she’s
experienced.
With her EP set to drop this year, Karma Nova is ready to take her seat at hip-hop’s
head table. “I’m not just making music—I’m making my mark,” she says. And with the
momentum of “Do That Sh*t” and an auspicious upcoming performance at New York
Fashion Week, there’s no doubt she’s doing just that.
