As a blogger, I’ve seen these “music challenges” lately trending across the blogosphere (yeah, I said that) and honestly, I figured it was about time that I partook in the activity. Then, after thinking about it some, I decided that doing so would totally go against the ‘Code of Cake’ originality clause. So, I did what any trendsetter would do…
Late last week – in a drunken stupor – I sat down and thought the idea of creating a revised music challenge. I took the original music challenge, and stripped it down – which is something I’m pretty good at. I dwelled on some of the less touched on music related questions and began to weed out the more cliche thoughts in order to replace them with ones that – to most people – require deep thinking and/or aren’t known off the top of one’s head.
The result of my initial experiment yielded something that could so dynamic that the odds of generating the same answers for any question would be slim to none. As always, I took it a step further and tested this on a few colleagues and not surprisingly many of their answers were unique and the frequency of repeat answers was less than 32%.
So, I implore you to check it out and give it a shot. Whats the worst that can happen: you stop after a few days… Best case scenario you discover some interesting music you may have forgot while sharing your tastes and maybe some interesting music, too.

*I’m not going to credit myself with ‘writing’ this survey. Music challenges are as old as MySpace (not my space) and for whatever reason, given the current fad, are more popular than ever. Whoever is responsible for their genesis, thanks for sparking my creativity in a time of blankness… Seeing that most of these questions exist in some shape or form on the internet, I only credit myself with brainstorming and compiling them into a manageable list and making it readily available online. All I ask is that if you share this survey with your friends or on a blog, please spread a link about the place you picked it up at. That’s what social networking is all about. Otherwise at the very least, complete this version of the survey and then share your results with us in the comments, on our FB wall or on Twitter.
