Refusing to be boxed into one category or genre of music, Columbus, Ohio’s D1 returns with Rehab. An emotional tale of love addiction, delivering such vocals as “you’re like a drug to me that I’m sick of taking” and “I need rehab for my soul”. You have no choice but to feel and live through the often relatable pain of not being able to leave someone that you know is bad for you..
D1 also handles the production, crafting a piano laced musical backdrop, along with a guitar that pulls at your heartstrings, that assist in bringing the story to life and help paint the picture of a relationship in turmoil that is impossible to break away from.
The track features Elite (producer for J.Cole, Jadakiss, and others), who released his Awaken project last week http://www.iwanttoawaken.com, handling the rhymes.
Rehab is from D1’s upcoming album Soul Blue, which drops in January 2012 and features appearances from Elite and Voli.
