Self Scientific “State Of Man”

Los Angeles based duo Self Scientific are concerned with one thing and one thing only: partying in expensive clubs. Actually, what I meant to say is that Chace Infinite and DJ Khalilare only concerned with the exact f**king opposite, as new release State of Man, making its worldwide premiere right now, once again so aptly illustrates. Behind the board Khalil puts together a simultaneously spacey and darkly epic beat that see-saws between synths, strings and pounding percussion. It’s the perfect backdrop for Chace to deliver lyrical reminders that we the people – not politicians, not preachers – are the ones who truly possess the power to improve our current state. Fans can also find this cut and much more dopeness on Self-Scientific’s Fear & Propaganda album, due out in January of 2012. In the meantime, keep it locked for further entries in the Event 20/20 Music Series throughout October and November, and click here to learn how you can win a pair of Event’s new 20/20 BAS monitors.

Earlier this year, Event Electronics debuted their 20/20BAS monitors, the latest version of a product whose music industry legacy stretches back to 1995. Now, DJBooth.net has come together with the audio equipment manufacturer to offer one lucky reader the chance to upgrade his/her studio with their very own set of the speakers, hailed by our staff reviewer as “[delivering] impeccable sound without any bells, whistles or glitz,” along with a Rode/Event Prize Pack that includes a Rode M1 Mic. Twenty runners-up will also receive prize packs. To enter, simply log into Facebook or Twitter using the widget below.
