Hailing from Detroit, Nigel & the Dropout arrive on the scene after turning a few heads locally with their amazing live presence. The duo, each bringing their experience from several bands and projects, combine to form a never-ending onslaught of raw emotion and sound. And now, after completing two amazing albums, they’re ready to take on the world.
Nigel & the Dropout – Expiration Date (the remixes) by 9G Records
Expiration Date, originating from their first album, pushes the listener to yearn for more. It begins the sentence, while the remixes bridge the gap to that elusive and conclusive statement. Both RoXium and Crossfaders, each remix offering superbly danceable variations, touch on house, complextro and tech. RoXium hitting us right away with the groove, while Crossfaders teasing us, until bringing the track home in the end. Fiero takes us back to the 80s Depeche Mode era, the ethereal stab of the synth making us almost see the poorly lit MTV video. Finally MVEMNT melodizes his electro styling from a vocal landscape into a meaty and bouncy ‘lectro tune.
