I was looking for different sounds for this project, nothing specific, but something that screamed out to me. What I found was an opportunity to dive out of my lane, and challenge myself while further expanding my comfort zone as an artist. I came up with the concept based on the small amount of what music I had heard on commercial radio lately: 808 and snare heavy beats, an easily digestable hook, and verses that leave little to be decyphered. Without sticking to that exact formula we put an honest twist on the age old addage that “the hook” will always pull listeners in closer to the message. I asked Reach to join me on this song, becauseI knew his mic presence carries as verbosely as the track required. In turn, he gave me one of the best verses I’ve heard from him at the present time.
