Everyone growing up has a dream. As you grow up, people around you will say that dedication & hard work will help you achieve that dream. But as the hand that guided you slowly lets go & has you enter the “Real World” on your own, all the positivity & support of chasing that dream gets left behind & is replaced with a grim reality of the day-to-day, paycheck-to-paycheck living life.
84% of the working world has succumbed to this life. Which would leave us with only 16% of people in the world “living the dream”, right? Nope. The statistics could be close, but doesn’t include the percentage of people like me. People that refuse to throw away a dream because they see a way for the dream to work. They don’t just have an idea of sorts, but a vision. So with the help from people like yourself, I’m hoping to project this vision into a reality through a microphone & a camera lens.
My vision is this musical project & documentary, “Time Wasters & Cheap Thrills”. I want to capture everything that is involved in the process of creating a musical project from scratch, and not only bring you a brand new album for your iPod, but also a visual piece that can answer questions & help you better understand the amount of dedication & work that it takes to produce something from nothing. From writing & recording, to mixing & performing, this documentary will take you through the lives of Independent Musicians & Artists alike struggling to survive from their art.
The reason I have titled this project “Time Wasters & Cheap Thrills” is that throughout my life, I have been fed a lot of negativity to try & deter me from following my dream, but I refuse. I will take any negativity that is around me & turn it into something positive to build from. So with this title “Time Wasters & Cheap Thrills”, that is exactly what I’m going to do.
With my project being funded, I would be able to accomplish everything from the recording process of the project to the release. This will also allow me to have a cameraman with me every step of the way, putting the process of creating a musical composition independently in the form of visuals & bring it to all of you as an insight of the trials & tribulations throughout this journey. I’ll also give you great contributors some awesomely sweet rewards for helping this project get off the ground!
