At first look, many people might confuse rapper Crenshaw’s popularity in the South, as him being a “Southern rapper”. With a majority of his fan base being in the southeastern region of the map, Crenshaw argues that he is still definitely a West coast artist. “I live in Jacksonville Florida now, and I’ve been here for a few years now. Most of my promotion efforts goes into securing my region. However I was born and raised in South Central L.A, so my story is a lot different from other Florida artist in the area”. If you take a second look, it isn’t hard to tell that Crenshaw isn’t from the South. From the engaging stories his music tells about the harsh realities of gang-violence, to his frequent wear of blue Chuck Taylors, Crenshaw represents his city well from a distance.
This is the first official music video from Crenshaw’s upcoming mixtape “Gunz & Butter”.
