The Weeknd “Crew Love” (Doug Bogan Remix) ft. Ava Aufderheide & Jacob Es [DON’T SLEEP!]

Dope new remix from the one and only Doug Bogan, who’s been absent lately… He had this to say:

I know I’ve been MIA for a few months on the blog circuit – apologies for that, as I’ve been focusing on my touring all over the US (heading to the UK for two weeks of shows in a week!). Anyways, over the past year or so, I have been thinking of how to incorporate my classical piano training of 18 years into my work as an electronic artist. I was convinced that there was some way to fuse the two together into one unique sound, and my remix of “Crew Love” is my first attempt at that. I began the process back in February by writing a piece for classical cello and piano that would complement The Weeknd’s vocals in “Crew Love,” then recorded the instrumental work with Ava Aufderheide on cello. From there, I collaborated remotely with Jacob Es for a verse on the track, then hopped on Ableton to arrange the work and digitally fill in the musical and instrumental gaps. EQ’ed/mastered everything, and the result is (what I hope to be) a soothing electroacoustic take on “Crew Love.”
